April 2012 Calendar photoZion National Park, Utah
This month's photo was taken in Zion National Park, Utah. This was a beautiful, sunny day in Zion as we were walking all the way to the end of the park's developed roads. Beyond that is amazing slot canyons and wilderness. You'll almost always see silky smooth water photos in my galleries. It's a technique I've come to understand well. In this particular shot, I needed a strong composition and shade. As the sun dipped behind the canyon walls, it opened up an opportunity for a great photo. This photo is taken from a small rock just within a leap from the beach. With a steady tripod and a several second exposure, I recorded this scene. Good light, Bill
